1️⃣ Beige flag, somewhere outside of red and green flags
Beige flag now joins the multitude of colored flags used to measure someone’s behavior. These things may cause a 2-3 second pause when you see or hear them happen. Beige flags include things or actions that aren’t immediate red flags, yet aren’t normal or good enough to be green flags - BUT also not yellow flags as it’s not in a negative connotation. They are all subjective!

Examples include:

“Using cliched phrases”

“Dunking oreos in water instead of milk”

“Asking someone their astrological sign upon meeting”

2️⃣ Girl dinner, if you’re a mother reading this… don’t worry, we’re okay!!

Girl dinner refers to a random combination of snacks and part-meals that come together to a somewhat (questionable) full meal. Usually these are all uncooked items that in total, took under 5 minutes to put together. Think of a giant plate of a handful of pretzels and hummus, a pickle, 4 slices of cheese, some chocolate, and half a celery stick.

3️⃣ Girl math, men are often confused by this and that’s okay

Say you return a shirt for $50 and buy a shirt for $60, you only spent $10. Say you paid for your food in cash and not your normal card - that meal was free, you didn’t spend anything. Girl math is a trend of women justifying their purchases, through disregarding the existence of old money, cash money, gift cards, and other forms of non-regular payments with their discretionary purchases.

4️⃣ Ick, aka: ewwww…

If someone said “that was an ick” or “he gave me the ick”, they are using “ick” as a feeling of disgust or dislike of someone or something.

5️⃣ Never back down, never WHAT?! Never give up!

This is a trending TikTok audio that has become incorporated into Gen-Z IRL slang. If someone is struggling or having a hard time, you might hear someone loudly use this phrase! Your response: NEVER GIVE UP!

6️⃣ Kenergy, no, not a combination of “kinetic energy”

Trending off of the Barbie movie, iconic character Ken has coined his own term - kenergy! Refers to someone who doesn’t take themselves too seriously, supports women and challenges gender stereotypes, and lives with confidence!

7️⃣ Let him cook, but not reserved just for “him”, simply used synonymously as a meme

Means: let them do their thing… because something GOOD is about to go down. This TikTok audio could also be found to be used literally from chefs/cooks.

8️⃣ Tomato girl, imagine a relaxed, chill-girl, European-girl summer

Dressed in linen, maxi dresses, lace trims, and natural/clean-girl makeup, these girls are now referred to as “tomato girls.” In fact, you could hate tomatoes all-round - it’s all a persona (hair girl emoji)

🔟 IJBOL, The new “LOL”

The acronym for “I just burst out laughing,” has been around for a while, yet has recently just caught on again. No, it wasn’t a typo.
